The Hill, The Rock, and The Return On Your Efforts

Do you remember the great story of Sisyphus?

Condemned by the gods to roll a giant boulder up a hill, only for it to roll back down the moment he reaches the top. Over and over. Until his very end.

However, a fast-paced market like the UAE can certainly make you feel like Sisyphus. You chalk out a plan, launch a campaign, reach the targets, and the next morning, it's all gone. The boulder is back at the bottom!

But here’s the truth: You aren't Sisyphus, and you can make a choice.

Unlike Sisyphus, if you are not receiving results but are still pushing yourself, it’s better to stop, sit back, question your decisions, and make new choices.

So, how to break the cycle?

Audit your "Push": “That’s how I’ve done it” is what I’ve seen people doing, irrespective of not achieving the results, and that’s what sets them back, ending them pushing the same rock without any changes. If your strategy is not evolving, you are not a smart worker. Ask yourself: Does it help us move forward, or does it keep us at the same place?

Focus on Progression: Sisyphus failed because he had no solid ground for his decisions. In business, real success is found in the 1% gains. Small, compounding improvements in your daily efforts, CX ensures that when the "boulder" moves, it stays moved.

Every Day Is Important: No “Big Bang” event is going to save us, but we keep waiting for it. However, the myth is defeated by making every single day count, by working it out “one day at a time”. So, if you don’t want the “rocking to keep falling back”, be consistent. Period.

The goal isn't to reach the top once. The goal is to build a new track that can place you at a higher plateau, whenever you start next.

Let’s stop rewarding the "struggle" and start rewarding the progress.

And question yourself, am I pushing a rock today, or am I building a mountain?
